GETTING STARTED

How do I arrange counselling?

The first step is to contact me by phone or e-mail (see Contact Me). I will call you to book an appointment.

Can I use my group health insurance?

Many health insurance plans cover the cost of counselling with a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a Masters degree (MSW). Plans vary, so I recommend you contact your insurance company to verify coverage.

How quickly can I have an appointment?

I can usually offer an appointment for the same week and try to arrange a first session as soon as possible recognizing that it takes courage to make the decision to seek help.

Do I need to do anything to prepare for counselling?

After we speak on the phone, please complete the Pre-Counselling Questionnaire (provided here). This questionnaire can be completed at home, in advance of our first session, to ensure that the session is spent doing counselling rather than paperwork. I ask that you complete the questionnaire and submit it, prior to our first appointment.

What do I do when I get to your office?

When you arrive for your appointment, please be seated in the waiting room until I come to greet you. I pride myself on being punctual so will be ready for our scheduled appointment time.
